Keith E.
Mauch
May 10, 1949 — Dec 11, 2024
Sycamore
Keith E. Mauch, 75, of Sycamore passed away on December 11, 2024. While napping in his recliner he left his earthly home and awoke in his heavenly home with his Lord and Savior.
He was born on May 10, 1949 in Graceville, MN to Ervine and Isabelle (Kenyon) Mauch. He married Nancy Anderson on August 14,1971.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army- serving from 1968-1971.
He retired from Awana Clubs International in 2015 after working as the director of building services for 15 years.
Keith was an active member of First Baptist Church of Sycamore since 1979 where he served as an adult Sunday school teacher, deacon, elder, and Awana leader among many other roles. After retirement he became the unofficial handyman of the church and served as director of the Helping Hands ministry for several years. He most recently joined the board of directors for the local non-profit, Love INC. Everyone that knew him, knew of his love for the Lord. He had a true servant heart, always willing to help family, friends, neighbors and strangers at a moments notice.
He was owner of Keith's Sharpening and sharpened many knives, tools and lawn mower blades for those in the community over the years. He loved working outside, feeding the birds, planting his garden and making his yard the envy of the neighborhood. He enjoyed golfing, watching the Bears (win or lose), and listening to the Cub's on the radio while he tinkered in the garage. His most treasured past time though, was being with his family. He was always there for anything his kids or grandkids needed. He faithfully attended all the sports and school events for his grandchildren, cheering them on and ready with a hug when they were done. He was a Godly leader and example to all, especially his family.
Keith leaves behind his loving wife, Nancy, his three children, Brian Mauch, Dana Mauch and Amber (Jim) Stehlin, 8 grandchildren, Andrew (Rhyan) Mauch, Kelli Mauch, Emily Mauch, Nathan Mauch, Dustin (Hannah) Johnson, Tyler (McKenna) Johnson, Hailey Stehlin and Mason Stehlin and one great granddaughter, Willow. He also leaves behind his sisters Marilyn Moffett, Judy (Don) Stottmeister, and Diane (Dan) Garmany and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ervine and Isabelle Mauch.
His memorial service will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday, Dec. 28th at the First Baptist Church, 530 W. State St., Sycamore, IL. There will be a visitation starting at 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the Church. A time for fellowship and a luncheon will follow the service.
For those unable to attend, a live stream of the service will be available at cometofirst.com.
