Katherine Sue Harrolle
June 10, 1954 – July 9, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Katherine "Kathy" Sue Harrolle, 71, of Genoa, IL. Kathy passed away peacefully at home on July 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Kathy was born on June 10, 1954, in Sycamore, IL, to Roland "Squeak" and Gertrude "Gert" Wylde. She graduated from Genoa-Kingston High School in 1972 and spent her early adult years devoted to raising her children and caring for others. As her children grew older, she began working at Illini Swine, where she later met the love of her life, Wayne Douglas Decker. She eventually transferred to S&S Farms where she became the farm manager until she retired.
Kathy is survived by her children: Kelly (Josh Luepkes) Harrolle, Tami (Adam) Robinette, and Matthew (Tanya) Harrolle; her beloved grandchildren: Kaylee, Brayden, Payton, Paige, Parker, Collin, Jace, Chase, Cain, Tiffany, Hunter, Jacob, and Tyler; and her siblings: Elroy Wylde, Vicky Vosburgh, Jeff (Gayl) Wylde, Cindy (Brad) Busch, Randy (Lisa) Wylde, and sister inlaw Cathy Wylde.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Squeak and Gert Wylde; her daughters Amy Jo and Jami; her brother Dan "Boone"; brother in law Bill Vosburgh; and her significant other, Doug Decker.
Kathy had a deep love for nature and cherished her time at the cabin up North with Doug, where they spent countless hours fishing, riding side-by-sides, and remodeling everything they could. She found joy in watching her grandchildren play sports, playing games with them- like BINGO, and taking them on golf cart rides. She also had a passion for cooking, baking, and decorating her home—especially in her favorite color, turquoise.
Kathy will be remembered for her generous heart and the way she made everyone she met feel like family. To know her was to love her.
Per her wishes, a celebration of life will be held on August 9, 2025 from 2pm-6pm at the Riverbend Central Park off of Market St. in Genoa, IL.
