Judith "Judy" Finnegan, 84, of Genoa, IL died on Thursday, April 4th, 2024 at her home.

She was born as Judith Ann Verhey in Chicago, IL on July 22, 1939 to Peter and Martha (Schaaf) Verhey.  Judith married her husband, William Finnegan on September 20, 1957 in Chicago, IL.  The two had three children and a fulfilling life raising their family in Kirkland, IL.  After William's death in 2015, she moved to Genoa, IL to be closer to her daughters and in doing so was able to find happiness in making new friends, playing cards and soaking up the sunshine.  Above all, Judy's favorite thing was to be with her family, watching her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren play, laugh and grow.

Judith is survived by her daughters, Cathy Wylde of Genoa and Donna (Rick) Petruchuis of Genoa; daughter-in-law, Margie Finnegan of West Des Moines, IA; grandchildren, Lauren (Derek) L'Huillier, Kaitlin (Brent) Holcomb and Payton and Derrick Petruchuis; great grandchildren, Piper, Bryant, Halle and Leighton Holcomb and Evan L'Huillier; her brother, Donald Verhey and sister-in-law, Kathleen Verhey.

Judith was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, William; grandson, Brett Kubasiak; sons-in-law, Thomas Kubasiak and Daniel Wylde; brother, Peter; sister, Ardene (Charles) Adair and sister-in-law, Evalyn Verhey.
