Joyce Carolyn Oltman, 91, of Sycamore died January 2, 2025 at her home.

She was born on January 9, 1933 in Rockford, IL. to John O. and Wilma J. (Nicholson) Bolander.  She married Roger D. Oltman on- September 13, 1953, in Sycamore, Illinois.

Joyce attended Five Points Country School and Sycamore High School.

She was a member of the Mayfield Congregational Church, UCC Sycamore, IL

Her hobbies included baking, flower arranging, gardening, feeding the birds, collecting silver and dishware, she loved all animals especially horses and dogs.

Survivors include Roger Oltman, her husband of 71 years;  Marjorie Lyons, sister;  children, Jan (John) Wylde, Clare, IL, Mark (Lisa) Oltman, Sycamore, IL, Jean (Paul) Meier, DeKalb, IL, Kent (Colleen) Oltman, Oregon, IL, Troy (Cassie) Oltman, Sycamore, IL, Jill (David) Simpson, Shabbona, IL; 18 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Wilma Bolander; parents-in-law, Bill and Ruth Oltman; son, Luke William Oltman; brother, Sherman Bolander;  daughter-in-law, Carolyn Oltman; brothers-in-law Sam Oltman, John Oltman and Clinton Lyons.

Her visitation will be on Friday, January 10, at Mayfield Church, 28405 Church Road, Sycamore from 10:00-11:00 AM.  Her funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM.

Burial will be at the Mayfield Twp Cemetery.
