Joseph Michael Manczko, 91, of Sycamore, IL. died at his home on May 9, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on January 18, 1931 in Chicago to John and Mary (Kielbasa) Manczko. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving during the Korean Conflict. Joe was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He married Alice Jeanie Eltvedt on June 23, 1957 and they have been married almost 65 years.
Joe is the owner of Sycamore Family Sports Center, which he built almost 30 years ago and has operated it with his son Joe and wife Jeanie. He is also a lifelong Sox fan.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Jeanie and their children, Debbie (Mark), Julie (Steve), Joe (Gale), Tim (Jennifer), and Jeff (Heidi). He was blessed with 12 grandchildren, Guy (Rhiana), Ed (Julie), Carly, Steve, Joe (Nichole), Nick, Kevin (Gina), Kimberly, Tim, Sarah, Madison and Alexa. He has 9 great-grandchildren, Morgan, John, Jade, Ralph, Kale, Matthew, Shane, Kaylee and Connor.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 6 brothers and sisters.
His body has been cremated per his request. A memorial mass will be on Monday, June 20, 2022 at St. Elizabeth of the Trinity (St. Tarcissus) Church at 6020 W. Ardmore in Chicago at 11:00 am. Visitation will be prior to the mass at the church from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.
