John Charles Menne's Obituary
John Charles Menne, 61, of Sycamore passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 4, 2022 at Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb.
He was born on March 2, 1961 in Rockford, Illinois. He was the son of James and Patricia (Gregory) Menne. He married Jayne Ludwig on July 27, 1990. Survivors include his wife Jayne, daughter Hannah Sameth, son-in-law Judah Sameth, grandson Noah Sameth, sister Mary (John) Annis, sister-in-law Barbara Menne, father, James C. Menne Sr., many dear in-laws, nieces and nephews, and those that have become true family through love.
He was preceded in death by his mother Patricia Menne and his brothers James C. Menne Jr and Michael D. Menne.
He was employed as the Director of Human Resources at Accuride Corporation in Rockford, IL.
John was a man of strength, both physically and spiritually. He had a passion for weightlifting, sports, Sci-Fi, meticulously grooming his yard, the Caribbean Beach, monitoring the weather, news, and his morning donuts!......but above all, John was defined by his tender heart and devotion to his God, family, friends, and congregation. John served in the DeKalb Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses as a shepherd for many years. He was the shoulder to cry or lean on, the protector of the downhearted, the arms to run to, the "safe place" to pour out your soul to, knowing there was no judgement. He was happiest when he was helping others spiritually through use of the Bible, and his infectious smile and positive attitude radiated throughout his life and relationships.
John was an exceptional husband, doting father, and wore his title of "Bop" (Grampa) as his most treasured badge of honor. His favorite sayings were, "It's all about Love" and "It ain't no hill for a hill-climber!" John will never be forgotten and we look forward to seeing him again when "all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out." John 5:28,29
