John Marzolo was born on September 14, 1932, in the state of Illinois. He passed from natural causes on December 28, 2019, at Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb, IL.

He was the eldest son of Leo & Blanche Marzolo (both deceased) and the brother of Lee Marzolo (deceased). John never married and had no children.

He had a career as an employee of the Chicago-Northwestern Railroad. He was also a cab driver in the city of Chicago.

After John retired, he lived in various independent retirement homes and his longest stay was at Barb City Retirement Home in DeKalb, Il.

John loved reading the Chicago Tribune. Discussing the weather was his favorite topic. He always remembered everyone's birthday and you could always expect to get a birthday card from him on your special day. He was a simple man. It never took much to please him. He was satisfied with just the air in his lungs, the clothes on his back, food in his belly, and The Chicago Tribune in his lap. When asked a question, he would surprise you with a quick sarcastic "one-liner" that always left you laughing.

He leaves behind, his niece Mary Sinard and her husband John Sinard; great-nephew, Aaron Knotts; nephew, Chris (Chewy) Marzolo and his wife Kim McGee; great-nephew, Luciano Marzolo-Mcgee and great-niece, Stella Marzolo-Mcgee; niece Kathrine Marzolo passed in 2016. They shared the same birthday and had much in common. The family is happy they are together once again. He also leaves behind his dear friend, Gordon Block who was there for him until the end.

John loved his mother more than anyone in the world and spent much of his life caring for her. It brings much peace to the his loved ones to know the whole Marzolo family is reunited once again.

A graveside service will be on Saturday, January 18th at 11:00 AM at the Toulon Cemetery in Toulon, IL.
