John Errera's Obituary
John Errera, 75, of Genoa died Friday, November 11, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on October 18, 1947 in Chicago, IL to Rosario (Roy) and Norma (Gray) Errera. John was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in Radar on the U.S.S. Hancock during the Vietnam War, being honorably discharged in 1971. When John came home from the Navy he attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Business Management. He was married to Arliss (Hansen) Errera on March 19, 1976.
He spent over 26 years of his career at Chrysler Financial. After retiring, he worked part-time at Arena Auto Auction until 2012.
John enjoyed Chicago sports, watching his grandsons' games, and spending time with his family. He was a kind, gentle, and loving family man with a great sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma.
Survivors include his wife, Arliss (Hansen) Errera; father, Roy Errera; his daughters Heather Nelson of Genoa and Allison Zientek (Shawn) of Sycamore; 5 grandsons, Nikos Boulahanis, Shayne Zientek, Jadon Zientek, Ethan Zientek, and Blake Nelson; sisters, Mary Lou Errera and Michelle Kurtz; and nephews.
His visitation will be on Saturday, November 19th from 1:00-3:00 PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 33930 N. State Road in Genoa. The service will begin at 3:00 PM with Rev. William Gauger officiating. Military honors will follow the service. Everyone is invited to stay for a meal in the church fellowship hall.
