Johanna Whitaker, 46, of Rockford died May 23, 2024.

She was born on August 12, 1977 in Middlesborough, KY to Richard and Marie Dorothy (Lecours) Whitaker.

She was a graduate of the Glendale High School in Tillsonburg, Canada and received her Bachelor's Degree at Capella University.

She was employed at IT Systems Analyst at Paramount Theater of Aurora.  She enjoyed woodworking, watching football, video games, theater, and Spanish dog rescue.

Survivors include her daughter, Camryn Whitaker; her mother, Marie Whitaker (Heather Hurst); and her dogs Oberon, Eileen, and Wanda. She is also cherished by numerous cousins, relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Whitaker, and her partner, Wendy Adler.

She also leaves behind a love for The Tennessee Volunteers, Toronto Bluejays, Chicago Blackhawks, Rescuing Spanish dogs, Music and Theater, and her family and friends.

Her Memorial Visitation will be at the Butala Funeral Home, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL. on Friday, May 31st, from 4:00-6:00 PM, with a Memorial Service beginning at 6:00 PM.
