Joan R. Geisness' Obituary
Joan R. Geisness, 87, of Sycamore died Sunday, December 22, 2019 at the Delnor Hospital in Geneva.
She was born May 17, 1932 in Chicago to Robert and Carrie (Daliege) Ziwiski. She married Duane M. Geisness on July 12, 1952 in Chicago.
Joan loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was a talented seamstress and loved to decorate her home. She will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her son, Duane Geisness; three daughters, Deborah Baker, Cheryl (Ronald) Gaydos and Karen (Robert) Casey; her granddaughter, Lauren Gaydos; one sister, Marilyn Jiranek; sister-in-law, Carol Ziwiski; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2003; two brothers, Robert and William Ziwiski; four sisters, Mildred Ott, Laverne Zaccone, Ruth Samiec and Lorraine Ingels.
Her visitation will be on Thursday, Dec. 26th from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory, 1405 Dekalb Ave., Sycamore, IL. A funeral service will begin at 7:00 PM with Rev. Daniel Swinson officiating.
Burial will be on Saturday, Dec. 28th at 11:00 AM at the Forest Home Cemetery in Fifield, WI.
