Jerry L. Tewksbury, 70, of Genoa died on May 24, 2023 in Belvidere.

He was born on June 25, 1952 in Sycamore, IL to Roy and Violet (Schumer) Tewksbury. He married Sandy Freise on May 28, 1976.

Jerry was a long time employee and owner of Tewksbury Brothers Construction. Family and friends were his main hobby. He loved making people smile and usually had some type of gift for everyone he encountered, even dogs enjoyed treats from Jerry.

Jerry will be missed by his surviving family members, which include his wife, Sandy (Freise) Tewksbury; his daughter, Joline (Walter) Nekyha and their two children, Walter Jerry and Max Nekyha; his son, John (Brittany) Tewksbury and their two children, Hayden and Kip and his sister Pam (Jake) Wesner.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Tewksbury; his mother, Violet Tewksbury and brother, Gary Tewksbury.

The visitation for Jerry will be on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Slater-Butala Funeral Home in Genoa.

Family and friends are invited to attend a service before the visitation, starting at 3:00 PM.

A memorial has been established for the Genoa-Kingston Rescue and Fire Department in care of the Slater-Butala Funeral Home, 132 W. Main St., Genoa, IL. 60135.
