Jeffrey S. Freise, or "Fryz" as many of us lovingly knew him, of Sycamore, IL, has come to the end of this life's journey surrounded by family, in Oregon, IL in the morning hours of Tuesday, February 27, 2024. Jeff, aged 63, was born to Audrey (Seddon) and Herman Freise, of Genoa, IL, preceding him in death (Mother-2022 Father-2010).

He is survived by his son Casper (Caitlin) Rice, his daughters; Lori Jena (Alexis) Freise, Cristin (Matt) Harris, grandchildren; Reef Torres Freise, Mason and Tegan Rice, George Harris, his sisters, Sue (Tim) Loy, and Judi Beach, and many nieces and nephews; Loys, Beach boys, Klassens, Davis's.

Jeff graduated from Genoa–Kingston High as class of '78 and enjoyed touring Europe as a talented trumpet player. Finding home in Sycamore, and married for 15 years, he proudly spent decades as a union carpenter building skyscrapers in Chicago. Many knew Jeff from the roar of his Harley, his skilled craftsmanship, and his encyclopedic knowledge of all things. To his friends, he would drop everything to lend a helping hand, and many of their homes shine as a reflection of it. He loved rock and roll and he liked to think of himself as an above average pool player—but some would argue that he just got lucky when there were witnesses present. ;-) In more recent decades, Jeff discovered his passions for farming, primitive antiquing and restorative woodworking with his dear friends at Deutschland Farms. With his warm smile and willing spirit, Jeff eventually took to whittling and jewelry making—a true master of all trades, Jeff brought great joy to others sharing these gifts.

Ride on with him at the memorial service Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 10am-12pm at the Butala Funeral Home, 1405 DeKalb Ave. in  Sycamore, IL.

In lieu of flowers, loved ones ask that you kindly plant a tree in his honor.
