Jean E. Spartz, 92, of Sycamore, IL died on September 24, 2025 at Keepsake Village in Columbus, IN.

She was born on November 21, 1932 in Kasbeer, IL to Henry and Dorothy Bell.  She married the love of her life, Jacob (Jack) Spartz on February 7, 1953.

Jean graduated from the Rochelle High School where she was a majorette.  She worked as a lunchroom lady at the West Elementary School in Sycamore and at Wayman's Ace Hardware for many years.

She loved to camp and go traveling with her husband.  The traveled throughout the U.S. and Canada.  She was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed watching their games.   Her love was her family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren.   She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her 4 children, Ron (Joni) Spartz, Dan (Nancy) Spartz, Janet (Mike) Wedwick and Jim Spartz (fiance- Deb); 18 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Glen (Rose) Bell and Donald (Loretta) Bell; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Jack Spartz, Jr.; her brother, Jim Bell and 2 sisters, Berneice Brown and JoAnn Huftalin.

Her visitation will be on Monday, September 29th from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Butala Funeral Home of Sycamore.

Her funeral mass will be on Tuesday, September 30th at 10:00 AM at the Church of St. Mary, 322 Waterman St., Sycamore, IL.  Burial will be at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Sycamore, IL.

A luncheon will follow the burial at the St. Mary Parish Activity Center, Sycamore.
