Jean A. Nellans, 80, of Sycamore and Genoa died Sunday, March 7, 2021 at the Alden Debes Rehab and Health Care Center.
She was born on Feb. 12, 1941 in Sycamore to Alex and Mary (Brush) Quigley.
Jean worked at NIU as a secretary in the English Dept. for 15 years. She then was a CNA for Home Care in the DeKalb County Area. She loved to help people and had a great sense of humor. She volunteered at the Dekalb County Nursing Home- working in their gift shop. She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies and T.O.P.S. She will be dearly missed by her family and many dear friends.
Survivors include her children, Terri Rocha, Cindy Hull, Vicki (Mathew) Littlejohn and Dan (Carlotta) Nellans; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; her brother, Robert (Sandy) Quigley; 2 cousins, George (Nova) Quigley and Marion Bennett; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, David and sister, Ruth King.
Her visitation will be on Friday from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Slater-Butala Funeral Home, 132 W. Main, Genoa, IL.
There will be a private funeral service, followed by a graveside service for all friends to attend on Saturday, March 13th at 12:30 PM at the Ohio Grove Cemetery on Barber-Greene Road with Pastor Mathew Littlejohn officiating.
