Obituary

Jason Tull, 45, of Sycamore, IL died on March 3, 2024 at his home.


He was born on September 6, 1978 in DeKalb to Charles and Mary (Hamilton) Tull.


Jason was a graduate of the Sycamore High School and the College of DuPage.  He also attended Northern Illinois University.


Being an accomplished musician, he played the guitar, piano and harmonica.  Jason loved all music. He enjoyed cooking, watching football - especially the Chicago Bears- and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.  Jason adored his daughter, Ellie and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.


Survivors include his daughter, Ellie; his parents, Chuck and Mary Tull; his siblings, Jackie (Tull) Beckman (Jeremy), Jeff Tull and Jennifer Tull (fiance Ryan Daniels); his nieces and nephews, James, Lillian, Wilson, Clara, Jordan, Jerett and Onyx and life-long friends, Jeff Hazelton and Jeff Fritz.


He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Milburn and Blanche Tull and his maternal grandparents, Robert and Wilma Hamilton.


His visitation will be on Friday, March 8th from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Butala Funeral Home, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL.  A wake service will be recited at 7:00 PM.


His funeral mass will be on Saturday, March 9th at 10:30 AM at the Church of St. Mary, 322 Waterman St., Sycamore, IL. with Fr. William Etheredge officiating.  Burial will be at the Elmwood Cemetery.

A luncheon will be held on Saturday following the graveside service (at 1:00 PM) at the MVP Sports Bar, 124 S. California St., Sycamore, IL.

Jason was a man of conviction and had a beautiful, charismatic and caring personality.    His passion for family, friendship, love, music, food,    sci-fi/space/science, travel, adventure and the outdoors captured the hearts and minds of many in his life. He had a pure and gentle soul at his core and always tried to be warm and welcoming with those around him.  Jason was the most happy when with those who loved him "devising the plan" to engage with life to the fullest.  He will be greatly missed. Rest In Peace.
