Janice C. James, 73, of Genoa, IL. died on September 15, 2026 at NW Medicine- Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb, IL.

She was born on September 24, 1952 in Genoa to Alvin and Nola Mae (Seyfried) Pedersen. She married Roger James on April 29, 1972.

She worked at AG Communications in Genoa. Previously, she ran an in-home daycare and worked at Genoa Pre-School at the Faith United Methodist Church.

Janice was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved going to her grandkids events, cooking and was an avid reader.

Survivors include her husband Roger B. James, sister Lois Van Vleet, brother John Pedersen, her daughters Brenda James and Kelly James-Titus (Dustin), son Michael James (Lani), and grandchildren Keegan James, Quincy James and Megan Titus.

She was preceded in death by her parents Alvin and Nola Mae Pedersen.

Her Memorial Visitation will be on Saturday, September 19th from 2:00-5:00 PM at the Slater-Butala Funeral Home, 132 W. Main St., Genoa, IL.
