Janet L. Phillips, 82, of Sycamore died April 6, 2025 at the Bethany Health Care and Rehab Center.

She was born on October 3, 1942 in Sycamore, IL. to John Ragner and Dorothy (Parsons) Gustafson.

Janet was the head custodian at the Sycamore High School for many years.  Then later worked at Northern Illinois University in building services until her retirement.

Having traveled to many different places, her love was vacationing and camping- especially when she would take her grandchildren.  She loved her family and spending time with them.  Janet will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her children, Terry Dobson and Brian Young (Christine); 6 grandchildren, Adam (Erica) Dobson, Alex (Aly) Dobson, Emily Young (Nathan), Hanah (Cody) Wallace, Ancelia Young and Cooper Young; 9 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Shirley Gustafson (Bob Lowry) and Sandy Garland and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Barbara Young and 3 brothers, Phillip Gustafson, Dale Gustafson and Jerry Gustafson.

There will be a private graveside service at the Elmwood Cemetery in Sycamore, IL. at a later date.
