James Fluckey went to be with the Lord on January 18, 2022. He was born November 30, 1942 in Versailles, Illinois to Dell and Nina (Hulett) Fluckey.
He earned his Bachelor's degree from Northern Illinois University in 1966 and continued to work there for 33 years in the Accounting/Data Processing office.
Jim was a faithful member of Bethany Baptist Church. He loved being a church greeter and was a part of many Bible studies. His faith was a gift that he shared with many others. Jim loved to travel but his favorite place to visit was his family farm.
An avid N.I.U. Huskie Booster, he enjoyed attending football and basketball games. He enjoyed being a part of church league softball and basketball games. Jim also went to many steam and power shows and county fairs. He loved visiting with friends and family.
He is survived by his brother Charles (Cathy) Fluckey as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and eleven siblings.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 5, at 3 p.m. at the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL 60178.
There will also be a memorial service held on Saturday, March 5, at 3 p.m. at the Versailles Village Hall, 211 N Chestnut St, Versailles, IL 62378.
We wish to thank Oak Crest as well as Dr. Ilaxi Patel for their care of Jim. Special thanks to the Krupa family for their devotion to Jim; it was a friendship that he cherished.
