JAMES EUGENE BELL, SR.
2/14/1931 - 1/02/2021
James (Jim) Bell, Sr. passed from this life on January 2, 2021 at Maple Crest Rehabilitation and Care Center in Belvidere.  After battling a milder form of covid-19, he was unable to over-come lingering effects from the virus.
Jim was a long-time resident of rural Sycamore where he and his wife, Barb, raised 4 children.
Jim and Barb packed their bags for a new journey in life and traveled out West.  Together, they managed  a camp ground in Colorado,  RV Resorts in New Mexico and 2 in Arizona.  They resided in Apache Jct., Arizona for several years.
He is preceded in death by his wife (Barb), his father and mother (Henry and Dorothy), his oldest sister ( Bernice).
Jim has 4 surviving siblings: Jean Spartz (Jack- deceased) Wisconsin, Joanne Huftalin (John) Arizona, Don Bell (Loretta) Chana, Glen Bell (Rose) Rockford.
Jim has 4 surviving children: James E. Bell Jr. of  Sycamore, David M.  Bell (Terry) of Sycamore, Katherine A. Bell of Rockford and Dennis J. Bell (Lorelei) of  Dekalb.
Jim is also Grandpa to 9 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren.
He is loved and will be missed.
Jim and Barb once again together in Christ, for eternity.
A walk through visitation will be on Saturday, Jan. 9th from 11:00 am-1:00 pm at the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory in Sycamore.  Facial coverings, social distancing and a limit of 10 guests can be in the funeral home at one time according to the IDPH regulations on Covid mitigations.
A public graveside service will follow at 1:15 pm at the Elmwood Cemetery in Sycamore.
