Se comunica a todos en general que: Ignacio "Nacho" Salinas, de 77 años; falleció tranquilamente el lunes, 8 de septiembre de 2025, en Genoa, IL. Se reúne felizmente: con su madre, Herlinda Zepeda;su padre, Cornelio Salinas; su hijo, Eric Salinas y muchos otros seres queridos, en la vida eterna.
Ignacio nació el 30 de noviembre de 1947 en Urireo, Guanajuato, México, siendo el menor de 12 hijos (5 hermanos y 6 hermanas). Con perseverancia, viajaba entre México y Estados Unidos en busca de estabilidad económica. El 8 de mayo de 1971 contrajo matrimonio con la señorita Teresa Parra también nativa de Urireo y poco después se establecieron finalmente en Illinois.
Ignacio se sentía orgulloso de todo lo que hacía. Trabajó arduamente para proveer a su familia en particular y a toda su familia política Parra García, ubicándolos en esta región. También fue un católico devoto y pilar dentro de su congregación, dispuesto a ayudar en los oficios religiosos. En sus tiempos libres, disfrutaba de su jardín y sus árboles frutales.
Quienes lo conocieron supieron que, siendo amable, generoso y solidario con todos los que lo rodeaban, sería la mejor manera de honrarlo.
El recuerdo de Ignacio vivirá a través de su esposa: Teresa; sus cinco hijos, Luis y Lucía, Concepción y Paul, Adam y Kimberly, Carolina, y Vanessa, así como sus nueve nietos, Shania, Xavier, Jared, Doriann, Jaden, Santiago, Gustavo, Iker y Nathan; así como sus hermanos que le sobreviven, María Elena, David y Eliseo.
La visitación se llevará a cabo el sábado 13 de septiembre de 1:00 a 2:00 p.m. A continuación, se celebrará una misa fúnebre; eventos, que acontecerán en la Iglesia St. Catherine de Genoa, 340 S. Stott St., Genoa, IL. 2:00 p.m. Finalmente se les invita a un sencillo refrigerio en el patio atrás de la iglesia.

Ignacio "Nacho" Salinas, age 77, of Genoa, IL passed away peacefully on September 8th, 2025. He joins his mother, Herlinda Zepeda, father, Cornelio Salinas, son, Eric Salinas, and many other loved ones in the afterlife.

Ignacio was born November 30th, 1947 in Urireo, Guanajuato, Mexico, and was the youngest of 12 children (5 brothers, 6 sisters). Through dedication and perseverance, he traveled between Mexico and the United States in search of stability. Then, on May 8th, 1971, he married Teresa Parra and soon after they established themselves permanently in Illinois.

Ignacio took pride in everything he did. He worked hard to provide for his family and give them the best life possible. Ignacio was also a devout Catholic and a pillar within his congregation, always volunteering to help with mass and various church events. With the little time he did leave for himself, he enjoyed tending to his garden, fruit trees, and spending time outdoors.

Anyone who knew Ignacio would agree that he was always kind, generous, and supportive. To embody these traits and care for one another would be the best way to honor him.

Ignacio's memory will live on through his wife, Teresa, 5 children, Luis (Lucia), Concepcion (Paul), Carolina, Adam (Kimberly), and Vanessa; 9 grandchildren, Shania, Xavier, Jared, Doriann, Jaden, Santiago, Iker, Gustavo, and Nathan; and siblings Maria Elena, David, and Eliseo.

His visitation will be on Saturday, Sept 13th from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at St. Catherine of Genoa Church, 340 S. Stott St., Genoa, IL. His funeral mass will begin at 2:00 PM. There will be a luncheon held behind the church after the service.
