Ida Lea Pinne of Genoa Illinois went to be with her heavenly father on Saturday, January 2, 2021.
Born January 20, 1923 to Fidelles and Iness (Peters) Loy on Loy Prairie near Watson Illinois. She attended Watson School and Effingham High School.
Ida married Ernest A. Pinne on November 10, 1941 in St. Louis Missouri and they were blessed with 75 1/2 years together until his passing. They had three children.
Ida worked at AG communications (GTE) for many years.
She and Ern were founding members of the First Baptist Church in Genoa Illinois where she taught Sunday school until she was 90 years old. For many years she graded inmates papers for the church outreach program with the DeKalb County Sheriffs department.
She loved puzzles, fishing and traveling with Ern and family, especially the mission trip to South America where she had an encounter with head hunters and found a love for Pepsi. Many times she was at the right place in others lives to bring encouragement and hope of the eternal life awaiting each and every one of us who believe. Every Christmas Eve except this one, she would read to her family about the birth of Jesus and the true meaning of Christmas.
Survivors include her three children, Ernie (Mary Ann) Pinne, Sue (Virgil) Hammersley and Mary A. Davidson, 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren 33 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and adopted Chen family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two great-grandchildren, son-in-law Jim Davidson, 3 brothers and 5 sisters.Her funeral service and burial will be private.
