Helen Marie (Fillman) Daniels, 89, of Kirkland, IL. died on March 31, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on March 19, 1937 in Des Moines, IA. to Leonard and Opal (Hayworth) Fillman.

Helen was a graduate of the Abraham Lincoln High School, Des Moines, IA., Class of 1955.  She continued her education at Broadlawns Nursing School, Des Moines, IA, Class of 1958.

She was a registered nurse for over 30 years. Along with working she kept busy with her hobbies, including embroidery, being a talented seamstress, and also doing word searches and sudoku puzzles.

Helen is survived by her two daughters, Michele Crase of Kirkland, IL and Vicky Daniels of Fort Atkinson, WI; grandchildren, Brooke (Nathan) Woods of Cincinnati, OH, Bridget (Brandon) Boo of Lockport, IL, Joseph Crase of Kirkland, IL, Nicholas Bardell of Fort Atkinson, WI, and Merissa Daniels of Hometown, IL; great-grandchildren, Zachary Woods of Cincinnati, OH and Cora Woods of Cincinnati, OH; sister, Beverly Peebler of Medford, OR; and brother, Larry Fillman of Des Moines, IA.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Opal Fillman; husband, Walter R. Daniels; son, Paul Daniels; brother-in-law, Jack Peebler and sister-in-law, Kathryn Fillman.

Burial will be on Sunday, May 24, 2026 at Sharon Chapel Cemetery, 540th St and 260th Ave, in Centerville, Iowa.
