Harold O. Wright of DeKalb, IL passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026.

Born in St. Louis, Harold was the beloved son of the late Harold and Alverdia Wright. He grew up with a strong appreciation for education, integrity, and service—values that would guide him throughout his life and career.

Harold was a proud graduate of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he earned both his undergraduate degree and his law degree. His commitment to academic excellence led him to a distinguished 37-year career at Northern Illinois University. A highly respected Professor of Business Law, he also served as Associate Dean of the College of Business and Director of the MBA Programs. Known for his steady leadership, sharp intellect, and dedication to his students, Harold mentored generations of future business leaders. He retired from Northern Illinois University in 2008, leaving behind a legacy of scholarship, professionalism, and integrity.

Harold is survived by his sister, Susan Fiene, and her husband Scott, as well as three nieces and nephews and five grand-nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held.
