Harold L. Freeman, 86, of Sycamore died on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at NW Medicine- Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb.
He was born on August 30, 1935 in Laharpe, IL to Leland C. and Iva (Wessel) Freeman. He married Joyce Ann Dhondt on March 23, 1974.
Harold attended the Jacksonville school for the deaf in Jacksonville, IL and later transferred to the Delavan school for the deaf in Wisconsin until 1954. He was a member of three different deaf clubs. He was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Elgin, IL.
Harold worked at Turner Brass in Sycamore for 36 years. When he retired, he enjoyed traveling with his wife within the United States and to many countries abroad. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching sports. He was an avid sports fan of the Chicago Bears and Cubs.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Ann; his daughter, Ruby (Mike) Rajkowski; his son, Larry (Vickie) Freeman; three grandchildren, Peter and Scott Rajkowski and Brenda (Mark) Howard; and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Bonnie DeGroot.
