Gregory J. Krecker, 59, of Kingston passed away on October 11, 2023 at his home.  He was born on May 30, 1964 in Elgin to Robert and Jane (Platcher) Krecker.

Greg attended St. Thomas More and St. Edward High School of Elgin.

After High School, he worked at Prairie State Select Sires in Pingree Grove for 3 years.  He then went on to work for the local 150 as a heavy equipment operator for 30 years until he retired two years ago.

Greg really enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and riding his ATV's.  He had a lot of friends and he really loved being with them.  Everyone called him a "Gentle Giant''.  He was good for telling jokes and his infectious laugh and smile would always light up the room.  He was a wonderful uncle to his nieces and nephew.  He will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends.

He is survived by his sisters Ann Gilbert and Ellen Krecker, his nieces and nephew Taylor Gilbert, Emily Gilbert, Mia Donato, and Jacob Gilbert, along with brother-in-laws Brian Gilbert and Jack Napoli.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Jane Krecker, and his sister, Denise Napoli.

A service and celebration of Greg's life will be held at the VFW in Genoa, 311 S. Washington Street,  on Sunday, November 5 from 3:00-7:00 PM. A Service will begin at 4 PM with food following the service.
