Gregory A German, 63, of Normal, IL passed away February 22, 2022.  Greg was born on December 18, 1958, to Loren and Alberta May German of Genoa, IL.

He is survived by his daughter Lisa (Joe) Gossmeyer of Congerville, IL and son Bradley (Julie) German of Kickapoo, IL, 5 grandchildren Molly & Abe Gossmeyer and Ella, Henrik and Oliver German.  As surviving are two brothers Dennis (Sue) German of Sycamore, IL and Bruce (Pam) German of Belvidere, IL and one sister Deb (Al) Polin of Reedy, WV and two nephews.  He was proceeded in death by his parents and a nephew and niece.

He worked at Greenlee for 35 years as a machinist and most recently employed by Illinois State University as a building service worker.  He was also a volunteer firefighter for the Genoa Kingston Fire Protection District and reached the level of Captain before his retirement.

He enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids.  He was an avid fan of the Blackhawks, Cubs, Bears and ISU Redbirds.

A visitation will be on Tuesday, March 1st  from 9:30 AM-11:00 AM  at Trinity Lutheran Church, 33930 N. State Road in Genoa  His funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by the burial  at the Genoa Township Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Genoa Kingston Fire Protection District or St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
