Obituary

Gordon W. Leffelman, 84, of Genoa died on April 21, 2023 at his daughter's home in Kirkland.

He was born on August 24, 1938 in Elgin to Lloyd and Esther (Rebhorn) Leffelman.  He married Hazel Underwood on June 2, 1962 in Genoa.
Gordon was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1957-1960.  He worked for the United States Postal Service for 20 years and later owned and operated Gordie's Place in Kingston for over 18 years.
He was a member of the Genoa VFW, the 40/8 club, the Moose Lodge and a Boy Scout Leader and Scout Master.
Survivors include his 3 children, William (Denise) Leffelman, Judy (Barrie) Greenwell and Peggy (Johnny) Heath; 11 grandchildren, Jacob Leffelman, Sean (Autumn) Taylor, Sr., Bobbie (Matt) Viktora, Janice Beckman, Jazmin Greenwell, Killian (Morgan) Greenwell, Paige Greenwell, Kristen (Adam) Habbley, Danielle Heath, Andrew Heath and Josh Heath; 23 great grandchildren; his brother, Delbert (Joyce) Leffelman, sister-in-law, Pat Leffelman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Hazel; and 2 brothers, Lowell and Art Leffelman.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 27th at 11:00 AM at the Kingston Cemetery with full military rites.  An open house will follow from 1:00-4:00 PM at the Kingston Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Kingston Auxiliary- Post 1010 in care of the Slater-Butala Funeral Home, 132 W. Main St., Genoa, IL. 60135.
