Gordon L. Erickson, 85, of Sycamore passed away on February 21, 2024 at his home.
He was born on June 1, 1938 in Chicago to Roy Erickson and Claire Erickson.

He started working in 1966 at  Jefferson Smurfit where he was printer/lithographer and retired in 2006. He was also the Union Shop Representative.

Gordon enjoyed hunting, fishing, basketball, golf, waterskiing, downhill skiing, camping and traveling. He was a long time member of the YMCA and  made many friends there and was a also member of the Moose Club.

He liked cheering for the Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Bears.

He also loved watching his daughter play softball and rarely missed a game.

Survivors include his daughter, Angie Brantley and her fiancé Rick Dose, one sister, Judy Bowman of Orange CA and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Claire Erickson and father, Roy Erickson

His Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, March 9th from 1:00-4:00 PM at the Butala Funeral Home, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the National Arthritis Foundation.
