Glenn Edwin Sebright was born on August 12, 1949 to Bernice and Nelson Sebright In Allegan, Michigan. He was the second youngest of six children.

After graduating high school like his father and older brother before him he enlisted in the United States Navy and served two enlistments in Vietnam. He served on the USS Boston and the USS Little Rock. He then went on to serve on the Hanover Park Fire Department for 30 years. He was a member of the Sycamore sportsman club where he had the honor of serving as a range safety officer.

Ed was always willing to lend a helping hand and he was a loyal and devoted friend a brother to many in the Navy, fire department and church.

He is survived by his wife, Sue; his sisters, Norine, Lee (Dave) Bernie and his brother, Joe (Kirsten). His children, Fred, Kelly (Ryan), Brooke, Justin and Katie. Grandchildren, Nickolas, Dominick, Dylan, Desirae, Tianna, Taylor and J.J. and great grandsons, River and Roman.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister, Viola (Jessie) and Bill (Bernie).

A member of Cathedral of Praise he served on security and counsel to Pastor Brandon Nelson.

A generous and caring man he was nick named "Superman" because of all the life challenges he survived.  A terrible motorcycle accident in 1989, Mesothelioma in his chest wall in 2016, "The widowmaker" heart attack in 2021. A stroke on Thanksgiving of 2022, which took his  peripheral vision on his right side.

He was involved with many charitable events, like raising $100,000 for Easter Seals, $250,000 for the MDA and he was fund raising chairman for the Fire Dept. Union.

He had a celebration of life on April 22, 2023 where he blessed all the people in his life. The outpouring of love that filled the place was undeniable. Throughout the years he held himself to the highest standards with honor and dignity.

His memorial service will be on Saturday, June 10th at 2:00 PM at the Butala Funeral Home, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL.   The visitation will be from 3:30-5:00 PM at the funeral home.
