Geraldine M. (Gerry) Clucas, 96, of Genoa died Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Sunny Hill Nursing Home in Joliet, IL.
She was born on April 15, 1925 in Chicago to Stanley Ray and Myrtle (Rasmussen) Rakowski. She was married to Kenneth C. Clucas.
Gerry was a teacher for the Genoa School District for 35 years. She loved her career and the many children she taught. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren, reading and learning- her favorite subjects were birds and history.
Gerry was a collector of hand painted plates, crystal, carnival glass, Santa's and Hummels.
Survivors include her sons, Kenneth "Rob" (Cathy) Clucas and John S. (Marie) Clucas; three grandchildren, John K. Clucas, Justin M. Clucas and Kelly E. (Daniel) Frantz; two sisters, Marjorie (Al) Anderson and Myrtle Storm; several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by parents; her husband in 2016; and brothers, James W. Rakowski and George C. Rakowski.
Her visitation will be on Friday, June 4th from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory in Sycamore.
A graveside service and burial will be on Saturday, June 5th at 12:30 PM at the Genoa Cemetery with Rev. William J. Gauger officiating.
