Gerald E. Wright, 88, of Marengo died November 18, 2023 at the Florence Nursing Home in Marengo.

He was born on April 14, 1935 in Saybrook, IL to Floyd and Lucille (Lappin) Wright.  He married Janet Suddeth on June 1, 1957.

Gerald was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict.  He worked for Arnold Engineering in Marengo as a tool and die maker, retiring after 40 years of service.

Gerald enjoyed gardening, farming and raising animals on his farmette where he lived for over 57 years.  He loved to help and socialize with everyone in the neighborhood. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his two daughters, Kathy Smith (Rick Donahue) and Shari Kubiak; and his two grandchildren, Alicia Smith and Tanner Wright.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janet; one son, Randy Wright; his grandson, Daniel Smith; sister, Carol Johnson Wright and two brothers, Harold and Roger Wright.

His service and burial will be at a later date.
