Georgia A. Olsen

Georgia Ann Olsen, 78, of St. Charles, IL, formerly of Sycamore, IL and Reeds Spring, MO, died Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva, IL.

Born September 1, 1946, in Sycamore, IL, she was the daughter of Edward "Ed" L.  and Josephine "Josie" J. (Henigan) Berg. Georgia was united in marriage to Raymond "Ray" Olsen on April 29, 1967, who passed away on August 22, 2008.

She was a graduate of Sycamore High School, Class of 1964. She and her husband owned and operated a heating and air conditioning company from 1977 until 1994. Then they owned and operated a resort on Table Rock Lake, MO until retiring in 2006.

She is survived by one daughter, Roxane (Michael "Mike") Benvenuti of St. Charles, IL; one son, Ronald "Ron" Olsen of Random Lake, WI; three grandchildren, Brendan and Devin Benvenuti and Alexia Olsen; one sister, Jackie Packee of Vernon Hills, IL, formerly Deerfield, IL; and eleven nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, brothers William "Ted" Berg and Thomas "Tom" Berg, her husband Ray, sister-in-law Carol Olsen, nephew Andrew "Andy" Olsen, and brother-in-law Jim Packee.

A visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, January 20 from 4-7 pm at the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory in Sycamore at 1405 DeKalb Ave.

Funeral Mass for family and friends will be on Tuesday, January 21 from 10:30-11:30 am at the Church of St. Mary, Roman Catholic Church, 322 Waterman St., Sycamore, IL 60178. Attendees are invited to a luncheon in the Church Parish Hall immediately following from 11:30 am-1 pm. A brief private graveside service will be held for immediate family at 2 pm at River Hills Memorial Park, 1650 S. River St. in Batavia, IL 60510.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made for Georgia Olsen in care of the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL 60178 to help support the National Kidney Foundation and American Lung Association.
