George Joseph Wegner's Obituary
George J. Wegner, 82, of Sycamore, IL died suddenly on Friday, November 26, 2021 at Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb, IL.
He was born on November 5, 1939 in Sheridan, WY. to Ruben and Julia (Dresher) Wegner. He married Barbara (McGlone) Butz on April 3, 1982.
George enjoyed being on his computer, watching TV and building model ships. He retired after many years working as a heavy equipment operator.
Survivors include his wife of almost 40 years, Barbara; son, Jerry (Cindy) Wegner; 3 step sons, Andrew Butz, Jeff (Carolyn) Butz and Tim Butz; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sister, Loretta Horton and brother, Leonard (Doris) Wegner.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, George, Jr.; one brother and one sister.
Funeral services will be private. Arrangements were completed by the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory in Sycamore.
