Obituary

Fran M. Jorgensen, 85, of Genoa died on November 7, 2022 at the Pine Acres Care Center in DeKalb.

She was born on May 3, 1937 in Kingston, IL. to Charles and Lillian Houtz.  She married Fred Jorgensen on April 6, 1957.
Fran was employed at Automatic Electric for 37 years, then took her early retirement.  She then went to work at Hytel in Hampshire and worked there for 10 years, then retired.
Along with spending time with her family, she loved baking and sharing her baking with everyone.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Genoa.
Survivors include her son, Dean (Jeanine); one grandson, Brad (Jessica) Jorgensen; 3 great grandchildren, Daniel Long, Curtis and Klara Jorgensen; son-in-law, Tom Flores and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Dyana Flores; grandson, Curtis Glen; 6 brothers; 3 sisters and her husband, Fred of 62 years.
Her visitation will be on Friday, Nov. 11th from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 33930 North State Rd., Genoa, IL.  The funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM at the church with Rev. William Gauger officiating.
Burial will be at Highland Garden of Memories in Belvidere.  A luncheon will follow the burial at Trinity Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family to be determined at a later date, in care of the Slater-Butala Funeral Home, 132 W. Main St., Genoa, IL. 60135.
