Everett R. Baker, Sr., 96, of Amboy formerly of Sycamore, IL died on December 16, 2025 at his home.

He was born on August 27, 1929 in DeKalb, IL. to  Robert and Ada Adel (Pullium) Baker.  He married Donnabel Robinson on July 23, 1949.

Everett worked for Anaconda Wire and Cable Co./Barber-Greene Manufacturing, retiring after many years of service.  He found joy in the simple pleasures of life.  He had a passion for horses and was a treasure hunter at garage sales and antique shops.  Everett liked to visit various casinos and was very excited to meet Vanna White on one of his adventures.

Survivors include his children, Larry (Diane) Baker, Mary (John) Houghtby, Jean (Dewey) Barnes, Judy (Jim) Burnett and Everett (Pam) Baker, Jr; daughter-in-law, Debbie Baker; his grandchildren, Marci (Scott) Lilly, Keith (Jody) Baker, Sarah Baker, Aric (Dawn) Yates, Aaron Yates, Angie (Mike) Allen, Edie Ellis, Natalie Kaiser, Jill (Brian) Jensen, John (Rie) Houghtby, Jr., Donna (Brandon) Engh, Jason (Kimberly) Barnes, Dewey (Sheryl) Barnes, Jr., Matthew (Lyndsay) Burnett, Darin Baker, John Hill and Alissa (Shane) Blanton; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Lois Robinson and Sherrie Robinson and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Donnabel;  three sons, John Baker, Tom Baker and Terry Baker; two grandsons, Cory and Kit; and 12 siblings.

His visitation will be on Monday, December 22th from 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM at the Butala Funeral Home, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL.  with a funeral service beginning at 1:30 PM at the Funeral Home.  Burial will be at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb, IL.
