Evelyn M. Gustafson, 92, of Genoa died on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at the DeKalb Co. Rehab and Nursing Center of natural causes.
She was born on March 30, 1930 in Sycamore to John and Marion (Stout) Harvey. She married William B. Gustafson on July 12, 1952.
Evelyn was a bookkeeper at Gustafson's Auto Parts for many years and worked at the local clothing store in Genoa.
She loved sewing, gardening and traveling with her husband. Evelyn's first love was spending time with family and was known for hosting as many as 30 for
Thanksgiving dinner. She loved to sew and was an excellent seamstress. She even taught her grandchildren how to use a needle and thread at a young age.
Survivors include her daughter, Leslie (Michael) Underwood; grandchildren, Cody Knur, Abbey (Jeremy) Stine, Andy (Carole) Jepson and Nathaniel (Talli) Underwood; great grandchildren,
Andrew Jepson, Sawyer, Avery and Nora Underwood, Giovanni and Naomi Stine; brother, John (Debbie) Harvey; daughter-in-law, Sandy Gustafson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one son, Larry Gustafson; son-in-law, Michael Knur; and her sister, Joan Roush.
Her services and burial will be private at the Slater-Butala Funeral Home in Genoa.
