A kind and loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother.  Estelle J. LaBon was loved and adored by all who knew her.  She was a talented cook, avid gardener, dancer, enjoyed all forms of music, and sketch art.  Family home was full of love, warmth, and laughter. Estelle was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, and wisdom.

Estelle was born on July 20, 1930, in Detroit, Michigan. She was one of three children of Thomas and Ruth (Payne) Gordon; and Eva Davis-Gordon (stepmother). She passed peacefully on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at the age of 93. She was preceded in death by her husband, Timothy LaBon, her parents, two sisters, Geraldine Gordon and Mary Gill, and brother Boyce Wilson.

She leaves behind to celebrate her life, nine children, Valerie (Richard) Cuschieri, Laura (Melvin) Murphy, Thomas (Lisa) LaBon, Francesca LaBon, Stephanie (Stanley) Reedus, Ramona LaBon-Smith, George (Marianne) LaBon, Janie (William) Cooper, and Marion (Charles) Fort. Twenty-one (21) grandchildren, Justin (Heidi) Cuschieri, Adrienne (Hayes) Grooms, Sheree Murphy, Leslie Tyson (Juan), Summer (Neal) Adderly, Thomas LaBon Jr, India (Lou) Brown, Keonna (James) Allen, Crystalin Williams, Kinyanna (Jerrel) Malone, Stanley Reedus Jr, Amber (Aaron) Vos, Tasha Smith, Celeste Grau, Jessica Smith, Isaac (Tamara) Smith, Jennifer LaBon, Christine Plumley, Nicholas Hopkins, Alicia Cooper, Brittany Cooper; thirty-one (31) great-grandchildren; and eight (8) great-great-grandchildren. And host of many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Estelle's visitation will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2024 from 10:00AM - 11:00AM at the Butala Funeral Home, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL. Funeral service will start at 11:00 AM with Rev. John Burch officiating.  Following the service, burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
