Ernest Phillips, 74, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on February 19, 1952 in Chicago, IL, Ernie lived a life marked by kindness, generosity and devotion to those he loved.  He made a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him, and will be remembered for his warm spirit, caring nature, dedication to family and an avid sports fan.

Ernie was deeply devoted to family and cherished time spent with his granddaughters.

Ernie is survived by his wife Janet, his son Ernest Phillips Jr. (Angie), daughter Amanda Phillips and his granddaughters Addison and Delaney as well as his brother Edward Phillips (Ann).

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we take comfort in the memories he shared with us always.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 20th from 12:00 pm-1:00 pm at the St. Catherine of Genoa Church, 340 S. Stott St., Genoa, IL.  The funeral mass will begin at 1:00 pm.

Burial will follow the mass at the St. Catherine Cemetery in Genoa.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
