Elizabeth Bailey Maze, 59, of Sycamore, IL, and a current resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado, entered eternal life on Monday, March 20, 2024.

Born on April 27, 1965, to Curtis and Mary Bailey, Elizabeth, lovingly known as Liz, grew up in Sycamore and graduated from Sycamore High School with the class of 1983.

Liz dedicated 31 years to Walmart, spending 26 years at the Sycamore location and the remaining years in Colorado Springs.

Her Christian faith was a cornerstone of her life. Baptized in adulthood, Liz became a cherished member of the Holy Circle of Chicago, IL, and the North Avenue Missionary Baptist Church. Liz was deeply passionate about her family, friends, and a good e-book.

Liz is survived by her three children, Tierra, Karen, and Sebron Jr.; stepdaughter, Nikkia Jackson; grandchildren, Tristen Jackson, Tavion Jackson, and Hayden Maze; great-grandchildren, Darario Jackson and Alaiya Jackson; siblings, Jim (Desire), Mary Bailey-Bomar, Denise, and Peter; aunt, Clara Terry; uncle, David Chapman; and a host of cousins and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sebron; her parents; siblings; grandparents; and many other family members.

Services will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, with visitation at 10:00 AM-11:00 AM, followed by the funeral service from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 1201 Twombly Road, DeKalb, IL. Rev. Dr. G. Joseph Mitchell, Pastor; Rev.  J.E. Burch III, Officiating

Interment will be private.

A repast will be held at Sycamore Veterans Memorial Homes, 121 S. California Street, Sycamore, IL, following the service.

Funeral arrangements are by Butala Funeral Home and Crematory, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL, assisting the family.
