Obituary

Edna Mae (Bridgewater) Bomar, 78, of Sycamore, IL, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2023,  at DeKalb County Rehab and Nursing Center.

She was born July 13, 1944, in Campbellsville, Ky, the daughter of Roy and Frances Louise (Jones) Bridgewater. She married Willie (Billy) Bomar in Columbia, KY, on March 6, 1961.

Edna worked for several years at Anaconda Wire and Cable in Sycamore, IL and as a childcare provider. She was also a New Hope Missionary Baptist Church member in DeKalb, IL.

Edna is survived by two daughters, Charmaine Webster, Jeffersonville, IN, Charissa (Christopher Alexander) Bomar, DeKalb, IL; two sons, Victor (Vinnie) Bomar, Rockford, IL, Van Bomar, Sycamore, IL; four grandchildren, Brandon (Diana) Webster, Machesney Park, IL, Rashaud(Genises Lopez) Bomar, Aurora, IL, Tyrese Bomar, DeKalb, Il, Alijah Bomar, Cortland, IL, three great-grandchildren, Jaden and London Webster, Machesney Park, IL, Natalia Bomar, Sycamore, IL, a special sister Fran Bomar, Sycamore, Il, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Her husband, parents, and two brothers, Joseph and Walter Bridgewater, preceded her in death.

A visitation will be held at 10 am on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church at 1201 Twombly Rd DeKalb, IL. The funeral service will begin at 11 am with Pastor Joseph Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Sycamore, IL.

After the service, a repast will be held at the Sycamore VFW, 121 S California St, Sycamore, IL.
