Earl H. Amidon, 87, passed away at DeKalb Co. Rehab and Nursing Center, on November 25, 2024, with his loving wife by his side.

He was born November 13, 1937, in Maywood, IL, to Earl R. and Olga (Wacker) Amidon. He married Sandra Kawczynski on November 11, 1967. They wed in St. Alexander Catholic Church, in Villa Park.

Earl was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from September 1961 until September 1963.

His career was excavating and trucking in Addison, IL. for over 70 years.

Earl enjoyed tinkering with anything having to do with motors and especially loved his model airplane flying contests, model trains, along with racing cars.

Survivors include his wife Sandra; one sister Linda (her late husband William) Berry; three sisters-in-law Linda (Mario) Romanelli, Joyce (Tom) Brake and Susan (Steve) Buell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Olga Amidon; father and mother-in-law Leon and Genevieve Kawczynski; sister-in-law Barbara Kawczynski and brother-in-law Wayne Kawczynski.

His visitation will be on Thursday, December 5, from 9:30 – 10:30 AM at the St. Catherine of Genoa Catholic Church, 340 S. Stott St., Genoa, IL, 60135. A funeral mass will begin at 10:30 AM, then a burial will follow at the St. Catherine Cemetery.
