Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Douglas Richard Palmer announce his passing on Monday February 3rd, 2025 at the age of 58.

Doug has left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. A bright light of unwavering friendship and kindness, many thought of Doug as their best friend. He was THE go to guy to problem solve just about any situation.  He loved to garden and was passionate about food. He was an outstanding cook and loved preparing meals for his friends and family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Ranelle Beal Palmer, son Joshua (Corina) Palmer and daughter Jessalyn Palmer, grandsons Jaxon and Jacob Palmer. His brothers David (Cheryl) Palmer, Daniel Palmer, Steven (Vickie) Palmer, James Palmer, his sister Cathy (Jean) Palmer and many beloved nieces, nephews, aunt, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Eileen Palmer and his brother Victor Palmer.

There will be a celebration of Doug's life on Saturday March 15, 2025 from 12:00 p.m.- 3:00 p.m. at Walcamp Outdoor Ministry 32653 Five Points Road, Kingston, IL 60145. Lunch will be served after the service. If you would like to honor his love of sports, please come wearing either Bears or Cubs sportswear.
