Dorothy J. Decker's Obituary
Dorothy J. Decker, 95, of Genoa, IL passed away peacefully on April 12, 2022.
She was born in Sycamore on June 16, 1926 to Guy and Pearl (Nead) Brown and attended school in Genoa.
She was united in marriage to Charles Decker on September 3, 1948. They made their home in Kirkland, where they lived until 1953. They then moved to Genoa where Dorothy worked as a cook for 31 years at the Genoa Vets Home- doing wedding receptions and dinners. She was also a Home Interior Decorator for 30 years.
Survivors include her two children, Bob (Sheri) Decker and Linda Decker Odom; four grandchildren, Chris (Mary) Odom, Kathy (Brad) Discoll, Brittany (John) Tewksbury and Lindsay (Jonathan) Bridge; eight grandchildren and 13 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving son, Steven Decker; her husband, Charles Decker of 49 years; six siblings- twin brother, Don, two brothers, Crill and Dick and three sisters, Alice, Jennie and Guyla.
Her funeral service and burial will be private.
Arrangements were completed by the Slater-Butala Funeral Home of Genoa, IL.
