Dorothy E. (Coon) Rigby, 90, of Genoa, IL, died on December 7, 2023.

She was born on October 7, 1933, in Steward, IL, to Jesse "Paul" and Madge (Bridgewater) Rogers.

Dorothy married Calvin Coon on January 15, 1955.  They were married for 31 years, until his passing in 1986.

Dorothy worked at Gliddon's Drug Store in Genoa for over 18 years.  While working there, she developed long lasting friendships with her co-workers, their families, and the Genoa community.

Dorothy married Bill Rigby on December 12, 1999.  They made their home in Arizona but Dorothy traveled back to Illinois frequently.  They were preparing to celebrate their 24th Anniversary.

Dorothy loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and dearly enjoyed luncheons and outings with her cousins and friends.  Dorothy never complained about anything, made the best of everything, and always put others first.

Survivors include her husband Bill, her children David (Debbie) Coon, Nancy (David) Shepherd, Julie (Brian) Atkinson, Betty Sullivan, Bill (Cheri) Rigby, Jr., Terri Black, and Katherine Rigby, her son-in-law Gerry Bianco, her 20 grandchildren, her numerous great-grandchildren, her nieces and nephews, and her caregivers Vera and Pam, whom the family thanks for the special care they had given to their mother.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Calvin, her parents, her brother Jim Rogers, her sister Margaret McBride, her daughter Jean Brown, and her son-in-law Mike Black.

Her graveside service will be on Wednesday, December 13th at 11:00 AM at the Genoa Cemetery, 325 S. Stott St., Genoa, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Genoa-Kingston Fire Protection District in care of the Slater-Butala Funeral Home, 132 W. Main St., Genoa, IL 60315.
