Donna L. McIlrath, 91, of Sycamore, passed away on June 7th, 2023.

Donna was born on October 24th, 1931, in Iowa City, IA.

The daughter of Lloyd and Eva Ruth Lincoln.  She attended high school in West Branch, IA.  Donna married George McIlrath on September 10th, 1955, in Aledo, IL.  She worked for the Bensenville post office for 25 years before moving to Sycamore to be closer to her family.

Donna loved watching basketball, baseball, and football, particularly the Chicago Cubs and Bulls. She also spent a lot of time reading true crime novels and loved watching old musicals.

She is survived by her only daughter, Debra Lasiowski (Greg) of Burlington, IL; 2 sons, Terry McIlrath (Jenni) of Cocoa Beach, FL, and David McIlrath (Kathy) of West Branch, IA; 2 granddaughters, Donna Cairy (Jeremy) of Monroe, WI, and Karie Eisman (Ed) of Sycamore, IL; 9 step grandchildren; several great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George McIlrath, Sr.; her son, George McIlrath, Jr.; 3 sisters; and 2 brothers.

Visitation will be on Sunday, June 11th, from 2:00pm-4:00pm at the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory in Sycamore, IL.  A funeral service will start at 4:00pm with Rev. Steve Persson officiating.

Burial will be on Monday, June 12th, at 1:00pm at the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City, IA.
