Donald Raymond Jackson, 69, of DeKalb IL. died peacefully Monday, November 4th at home surrounded by his family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was a fighter until his very last breath.

He was born October 22, 1956 in Chicago, IL.

Donald built a life rooted in hard work, family, and simple joys. He spent his career as an Electrical Engineer and Maintenance Manager for LTD/ASC Brands, where his dedication and work ethic earned deep respect from his colleagues and friends.

Outside of work, Donald loved life's adventures. He was an avid fisherman always happy planning his next fishing trips, often upgrading to a fancier new boat, and cheering on his favorite sports teams — the Chicago Bears and Cubs. He loved going to the casino, traveling and taking family vacations, and he never turned down a good dinner out with his wife, Sandy. His loyal dog, Maggie, was always by his side.

Above all, Donald's greatest joy came from his family. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment watching them grow and excel in their sports and activities. His love and pride in them was endless.

Donald is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Jackson; his sister, Debbie Miller (Jon); his children, Michael Jackson (Shannon), Jason Jackson (Carissa), Lindsey Davis (Scott), Matt Stearns (RaeAnn), Michelle Ohlinger (Brian), Michael Stearns (Jessie), and his adored grandchildren, Shea, Lilyana, Liam, Levi, Dominic, Griffin, Preston, Makennah and Rachael. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Larry Jackson, mother Irene Norton, brother Larry Michael Jackson, grandparents Raymond and Betty Morlock, Hudson and Louise Jackson and his beloved dog Maggie.

Donald will be remembered for his strength, humor, and endless love for his family. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Though his physical presence will be deeply missed, his spirit will continue to guide and comfort his family always.

His visitation will be on Monday, November 10th from 1:00-4:00 PM at the Butala Funeral Home in Sycamore, IL, with a prayer service beginning  at 1:00 PM.
