Donald (Bud) James Kohler, passed away on May 22, 2023.

He was born in Middleton, Michigan, to Michael and Pauline (Howatinech) Kohler. He was the youngest of 9 children.

Bud was in the army for 2 years. He married Betty Baxter on December 19, 1951.

Bud was a long-time resident of the DeKalb/Sycamore area. He also was a local businessman who owned and operated a very successful construction business for many years.

He is survived by his 3 children, Susan (Tony) Coldagelli, Mark (Margaret) Kohler, and Rick (Debbi) Kohler; 9 grandchildren, Matt (Sarah), Scott (Liz), Dan (Dana), and Brian (Thilini) Coldagelli, Amy (Harry) Frederick, Jennifer (Steve Hotze) Kohler-Hotze, and Katherine Kohler, Paige (Connor) Hickey, and Grant Kohler; great grandchildren, Walter, Agnes, Norah, Isla, Scottie, Mia, Colin, and Isaac Coldagelli, Emma and Anna, Frederick, Luke and Liam Kohler-Hotze, Dean Hickey.

Bud was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, of 64 years; brothers, Max, Frank, Jim, and Mike; sisters, Edna Askelson, Alice Larson, Kate Ogle, and Lillian Seppala.

His services will be private.
