Debra L. Hunter-Elko, 63, of Kingston died Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at NW Medicine- Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb.

She was born December 29, 1956 in Elgin to Nathan and Alberta "LaVonne" (Lowe) Yost.
Debra was an administrative secretary for various agencies including Visiting Angels, where she also worked as a care giver.  She loved her family and enjoyed caring and helping them.  She especially loved to be with her grandchildren. She will always be remembered as a person who served others.
Survivors include her daughter, Trisha Hunter; four grandchildren, Alexis, Alivia, Traven and Tyler Atterberry; her life partner, John Elko; brother, Donald Yost; two sisters, Denise Dye and Diane (James) Pennington; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; William T. Hunter and brother, Dale Yost.
Her walk through visitation will be on Sunday, August 16 from 3:00 - 6:00 PM at the Slater-Butala Funeral Home with CDC Recommendations in place- facial coverings required and social distancing.  Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers,  memorials can be made to the family in care of the Slater-Butala Funeral Home, 132 W. Main St., Genoa, IL. 60135.
