Debbie Prestia, 63, of Genoa died August 23, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family and friends.

She was born on December 23, 1959 in Elgin to Art and Karen (Barry) Haynes. She married Michael Prestia on August 20, 1977 in Elgin.

Debbie was an avid gardener and loved animals.  For many years, she was in charge of fundraising for the Barn on Baseline- which was instrumental with the updating and additions to the facility.  Her true enjoyment came when she could spend time with her grandchildren- she was a very proud 'Nana'.

Survivors include her daughters, Jessica (Mark) Lankford and Michelle (Scott) Hayward; 4 grandchildren, Kylie and Michael Lankford and Lincoln and Maverick Hayward and a host of loving friends and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Michael.

Her visitation will be on Monday, Aug. 28th from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Slater-Butala Funeral Home of Genoa.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, Aug. 29th at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with Chaplain Pam Lojewski officiating.  Burial will be at the Genoa Cemetery.
