Obituary

David M. Mills, 66, of Sycamore, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Friday, June 11, after an extended illness.
He was born on October 9th, 1954, in Oklahoma and graduated from Illinois School for the Deaf in Jacksonville.  David worked construction, and later on for the United States Postal Service.
David was a life-long Bears and Cubs fan.  Despite health challenges during his later life, he always had a smile on his face and a positive attitude.  He will be remembered as a good and decent man who always gave the best he could.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Luella; father, Henry (Mike) Sigrist; brother, Eddie Mills; and sister, Meri Weidemiller,
David is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Diane Mills (née Brinkman); brother, Mike Sigrist Jr.; sister, Susan Sigrist; daughter, Jill Zelker (Roger); son, Thomas Mills (Kylene); daughter, Sarah Mills (partner, James); grandson, James Mills; granddaughters, Jazlynn, Jayden, Kaydence, and Kenzie; mother-in-law, Hazel Brinkman; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
There will be a memorial service held at 11:00am on Friday, June 18th at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 195 Nesler Rd., Elgin, IL 60124.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to cure PSP ( www.psp.org ) or multiple sclerosis research ( mymsaa.org ) or send contributions, with family's name on front, in care of the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory, 1405 DeKalb Ave., Sycamore, IL. 60178.
